Dancing shoes

Hi! l hope you enjoy this book review on Dancing shoes!

Author- Noel Streatfeild
Genre- Fiction
Theme- Follow YOUR passion l will explain why later in the post
Target audience- 10+ l will explain why later in the post

I said follow YOUR passion for the theme. I chose it because Rachel kept saying to Hilary that she should just do ballet but I think that Hilary did the right thing by doing acrobatics and things like that because Hilary didn't really like ballet that much anyway.

I chose 10+ for the target audience because the words for ballet are quite hard to say if, you're reading it out loud but otherwise you can read Dancing Shoes! Unless, you can read Frech of course!

This book is about Rachel and her Mother and they adopted Hilary but her father died quite soon after he started to act. And Rachel and Hilarys Mother died when they were around 10 years old. Then their aunt Cora (Mrs Wintle) came and took the girls to Londen to where their uncle (Tom Lennox) and cousin (Dulcie) lived. Mrs Wintle ran a dancing school and Hilary soon settled in but Rachel had a harder time because she had never danced before. During the book Rachel kept trying to persuade Hilary to give up that dancing and go to the Royal Ballet School. But everyone else thought that Rachel has gone crazy...

I give this book 3 out of 5 stars ⛦ because it got boring sometimes because events just kept happening and they never stayed at one event and focused on it. Instead it was just a lot of events and not enough detail.

The question of the blog is would you like to do ballet? I would because I think it would be very fun and good for your legs muscles. It would also strengthen them to become more stronger and not have weak legs. You would also have to be quite flexible!

Also there is a film based on this book called Dancing Shoes. Though, it is quite diferent. I hope you enjoyed this book review on Dancing shoes! Love-bookworm blog

The Heaven Shop

Hi! I hope you enjoy this book review on, The Heaven Shop!

Author- Deborah Ellis
Genre- Fiction
Theme- Be resilient
Target audience- 10+

I chose be resilient for the theme because when Binti's dad died from pneumonia and  everyone made her sad and angry, she kept going in life and never gave up.

I chose 10+ for the target audience because you have to concentrate quite a bit to understand the book. Some people had AIDS and it is a real life thing so people might get confused.

This book is about Binti's Mother who died before the story started, so Junie (her older sister) was taking care of Kwasi (her older brother) and Binti since she was 10 years old. Then when Junie was 16 she was engaged to Noelle and her Father was dying. Everyone thought that her father was dying because of AIDS but it was because of pneumonia. Noelle broke off the engagement to respect his family's wishes.

Then, what happens Binti and Junie got split up with Kwasi to different Aunts and Uncles. They are literally child slaves. Around that time Kwasi was sent to jail for stealing food because he was starving. Then, Binti and Junie escaped this cruelty and got split up. Binti move to her Go Go's house with a few other children For Go Go takes when their mother or Father is ill or about to die of AIDS. Binti remembers her old life and they start a coffin shop like her father's because everyone keeps dying. That is when all the siblings reunite and Go Go dies.

I give this book 5 out of 5 stars ⛦ because this book was really emotional and I really wanted to cry (I didn't). It got even scarier because this is a situation that happens in real life all the time. It was just so real and it felt like you were with Binti, the whole time.

The question of the blog is do you like drawing? I chose this question because Kwasi liked drawing. I like drawing, but I am not very good at it. I especially like drawing flowers and roses.

I hope you enjoy this book review on The Heaven Shop! Love-bookworm blog ๐Ÿ˜™

Book Talk- September 2019

Hi! This is the third book talk l have done so far. I hope you are still enjoying this series!

I have reviewed these books in September, Girl Underground by Morris Gleitzman and Good Geeks go BAD by Catherine Wilkens.

A quick recap on them,
Girl Underground- Bridget went to a topnotch school and met Menzies. From there they went and tried to save BiBi and Jamal (from Boy Overboard).
Good Geeks go BAD- Ella decides being good doesn't get her anywhere so, why not try being bad for a change? Ella joins BUTTS, a group (kind of) and the influence at home isn't helping either...

The book I liked the most this month was...
Girl Underground because there was excitement and was more entertaining in general. I also liked how Morris Gleitzman linked up the two books Girl Underground and Boy Overboard.

If you want to learn more on them, these are the dates I posted them and links to the post.
Girl Underground-HERE 14th of September and When Good Geeks go BAD- HERE 26th of September.

When Good Geeks go Bad

Hi! I hope you enjoy this book review on When Good Geeks Go Bad.

Author-Catherine Wilkins
Genre- Fiction, Everyday life
Theme- Be unique l will explain why later in the post
Target audience-  10+ l will explain why later in the post

I chose be unique for the theme because Ella decides being good has not led her anywhere, so she turns into a rebel. Ella finds out that copying everyone else is not as good as being yourself.

I chose 10+ for the target audience because the ideas are hard to follow. The ideas are hard to follow because sometimes nothing is happening and sometimes you get a giant load of information.

This book is about Ella deciding being good has not been getting her anywhere so why not try being bad?  Ella starts hanging out with the naughty/bad people. To make matters worse her parents recently divorced. Ella still remembers her parents constantly fighting.

I give this book 3 out of 5 stars ⛦ because l personally thought that the plot was quite bland and boring. Also sometimes during the book it was uneventful.

The question of the blog is are you compassionate? I personally think I am compassionate because I am kind and helpful whenever l can be. I definitely hope you are compassionate too!

Look forward to seeing new posts! Love-bookworm blog ๐Ÿ˜™

Artist(s)- Billie Eilish
Released- March 30, 2019
Album- WHEN WE ALL FALL ASLEEP, WHERE DO WE GO?
Genre- Pop
Song- bad guy

I give this song 5 out of 5 stars ⛦ because I really like the beat to this song and if you want to start singing, this is an easy song to start with because there is not much singing but more emotion and feeling to it.

Bilie Eilish~ 18 December 2001, 17 years old (currently).

Songs are also are a form of writing so that is why I am reviewing songs. hope you enjoy this song review on bad guy! Love-bookworm blog ๐Ÿ˜˜

Girl Underground

Hi! This is kind of a follow up book to Boy Overboard. If you have not already read that post, l recommend you do. I hope you enjoy this book review on Girl Underground!

Author- Morris Gleitzman
Genre- Fiction, Adventure
Theme- Be brave- l will explain why later in the post
Target audience- 10+ l will explain why later in the post

I will explain why l chose be brave for the theme. I chose be brave because the security guards kept shouting at BiBi and Jamal's father making him sad but they still wanted to get him out.

I will now explain why l chose 10+ for the target audience. I chose 10+ for the target audience because the backstories to the characters are quite complex and confusing.

Now the main character Bridget (from first person point of view), has a criminal family. Though her brother is in jail they only do it because Bridgets family (mostly her Dad and brother) do not see why they should not do it but the only reason that her Dad is a "criminal" is because they sell things from trucks that tipped out and sell them. Her brother (Gavin) is in Jail because he stole something so people didn't laugh behind their dad (Leonard)'s back. That is how Bridget ended up in boarding school where she met Menzies.

This book is about Bridget getting an education that her parents would never have gotten. It is quite obvious that Bridgets parents care about her because her parents cancelled something that they really wanted to get done. While Bridget is at her 'top notch' school a boy tries to read Gavins letter but of course Gavin is in Jail, so Menzies instead switches the letters around with a letter from a school project which Menzies thinks is really important because its about kids (Jamal and BiBi), from boy overboard stuck in a detention centre when they did nothing. That is when the problem begins.

Now that was a long paragraph!

I give this book 4 out of 5 stars ⛦ because it took quite a long time to get introduced into the problem and Jamal and BiBi. Sometimes you want to get into the problem, the tension and the excitement. Though once I did reach the excitement, Girl Underground was really interesting.

The question of the blog is what would you change your last name to? I chose this question because Bridgets family changed their last name from Podger to White. I would change my last name to Lena because to me any name that starts with 'L' is graceful and clever sounding.

I hope you enjoy this book review on Girl Underground! Keep on the lookout for new posts. Love- bookworm blog

The Mysteries of Ravenstorm Island. The Lost Children

Hi! I hope you enjoy this book review on The Mysterys of Ravenstorm Island. The Lost Children!

Author- Gillan Phillip
Genre- Fiction, Adventure
Theme- Be brave, l will explain why later in the post
Target audience- 10+ l will explain why later in the post

I chose be brave for the theme because in The Lost Children Melody Garland found the the Sprye Queen's son and the queen was extremely threatening.

I chose 10+ for the target audience because the concepts and ideas are pretty complicated and the story was full of  suspense and scary.

I recommend this book to people who like Enid Blyton because Gillan Phillip and Enid Blyton have similar writing styles. In addition, Paul Jennings because Paul and Gillian have a similar way of writing suspense and you keep wanting to read on.

Finally, this book is about Arthur (Art, is his nickname) moving to Ravenstorm Island. Molly and Jack come too because their parents are magicians and travel the world for their shows. Except at first they do not know each other and when they get there they are disrespectful to each other. Mason, the butler who came with the house gave them lucky stones, to keep them safe. The trouble is that Melody Garlan stole the sprye queen's son. That made her turn all the children into stone but Molly and Arthur manage to not get hit by the spell because of the stones Mason gave them but because Jack didn’t keep his stone he got hit by the spell which also turned him into stone.

I rate this book 4 out of 5 stars ⛦ because l feel like the solution to the problem was very rushed. Also because Gillan Phillip ended up introducing a lot of pointless and useless characters along the way.  Although l think the problem was well thought out and was a great idea.

The question of the blog is would you move to a forgotten island? I personally would not because l like to be near people l know and in places more comforting.

I hope you enjoyed this book review on The Lost Children!

Now, finally what is your Patronus? My Patronus is a fox! You're very clever and know how to get what you want in life. You're a hard worker, extremely ambitious, and strive to be the best.

The dirt diary

Hi! I hope you enjoy this book review on The dirt diary!

Author- Anna  Staniszewski
Genre- Fiction
Theme- Do the right thing l will explain why later in the post
Target audience- 10+ l will explain why later in the post

I will now explain why l chose do the right thing for the theme. I chose do the right thing because Rachel was asked to spy on Steve Muller's girlfriend while Rachel cleaned her house. Rachel later chose not to spy because it was wrong.

I will now explain why l chose 10+ for the target audience. I chose 10+ for the target audience because the vocabulary was unusual.

This book is about Rachel kinda stealing $287.22 from her college funds and has to pay back ASAP because her dad moved to Florida and her family is breaking apart. Also Rachel's mum checks the funds every month at the same time so, she only has a month to pay it back. To pay it back Rachel has to give up her Saturdays to clean other people's toilets while doing that Rachel finds out juicy secrets. Does Rachel do it for money or do the right thing? To get an extra one hundred dollars Rachel enters the baking competition and wins!

I give this book 4 out of 5 stars ⛦ because The dirt diary never really explained why Rachel's Dad went away in the first place. This informative is really important because that is why she stole the money in the first place.

The question of the blog is would you like to move to Florida for the rest of your life? I personally would not because l LOVE where l live at the moment and Florida's weather conditions can get a little crazy and wild at times.

Look out for new posts! Love-bookworm blog ๐Ÿ˜™

Olive of Groves

Hi! I hope you enjoy this book review on Olive of Groves!

Author- Katrina Nannestad
Illustrated- Lucia Masciullo (Olive of Groves is not a pictute book)
Genre- Fiction
Theme- Be optimistic I will explain why later in the post
Target audience- 9+ l will explain why later in the post

I chose be optimistic for the theme because while she was at, Mrs Grove's Boarding School for Naughty Boys, Talking Animals and Circus performers she ALWAYS looked on the bright side.

I chose 9+ for this book because some of it is hard to understand. Also because there are lots of characters to keep track of.

This book is about a girl named Olive, who lived with her grandparents. Olive's life changed when a letter came in the post but they had a lizard in their  mail box that ate the the name of the school. When Olive arrived she had to pretend to be an acrobat but was put on probation. Read Olive of Groves to see if Olive passes her probation.

I rate this book 3 out of 5 stars ⛦ because  there was barely any description at all. Also the author kept introducing new characters and never used them again. So there was a lot of characters to keep track of.

The question of the blog is would you stay positive throughout your time at Mrs Grove's Boarding School for Naughty Boys, Talking Animals and Circus performers? Well l would defiently at least try to but l probably would not be able to keep, being positive the whole way through because, a the school bully Pig McKenzie kept being mean to EVERYONE.

I hope you enjoyed this book review on Olive of Groves. Love-bookworm blog ๐Ÿ˜˜

Star Seeker

Hi! I hope you enjoy this book review on Star Seeker!

Author- Tim Bowler
Genre- Fiction
Theme- Be brave l will explain why later in the post
Target audience- 10+ l will explain why later in the post

I will now explain why l chose bravery for the theme. I chose bravery because when Skin and his gang try to kill Luke (the main character), he was undeniably brave again because during his recovery he still manages to do the retirement concent for Mr Harding.

I chose 10+ for the target audience because of the events that happened and the concepts. Also because of the hard vocabulary.

This book is about Luke Stanton  (the main character) and Mrs Little. The first thing that happens is that the gang (Daz, Speedy and Skin) dared  Luke Stanton to break into Mrs Littles house but they don't know what is behind the doors. Luke ditched school all because of that. Read Star Seeker to find out what happens.

I give this book 5 out of 5 stars ⛦ because I L-O-V-E  this book so much. I love this book so much because of the storyline. I love the storyline because the problem and solution are extremely well thought out. I know breaking in was wrong but what Mrs Little did was much worse. Luke Stanton broke into a house but Mrs Little kidnapped a girl that had mental health issues and didn't want therapy for her.

The question of the blog is would you do the dare breaking into some one else's house? I personally think I would definitely NOT do that because that is really wrong and the consequences would be horrific.

I hope you enjoyed this book review on Star Seeker! Love-bookworm blog

Boy Overboard

Hi! I hope you enjoy this book review on Boy Overboard!

Author- Morris Gleitzman
Genre -Fiction
Theme- Have faith in yourself l will explain why later in the post
Target audience- 10+ will explain why later in the post

I chose have faith in yourself as the theme because in Boy Overboard they got in the wrong ship to their parents and they could not trust many people at all. Read on to find out what happens next!

I chose 10+  for the target audience because the event that happens in Boy Overboard is pretty hard to understand. Also because there are words that are hard to understand.

Boy Overboard is about Jamal and Bibi (the main characters ) first living in Afghanistan. Afghanistan's government is extremely strict about a lot of things like illegal schools, girls outside of there house without a parent and anyone playing soccer. Their Dad drives a taxi with petrol not for taxis  (but it works anyway) and the government blows up there house and have to go somewhere else and set off to Australia. While trying to get to there ship they miss there ship and have on a different ship. On board ship they have to be careful about who they trust.

I give this book 4 out of 5 stars ⛦ because  sometimes it got a little bit boring at times and Moris Gleitzman  (the author) describe the scene that well. Another reason is that l think that we did not get to know the characters  (Jamal and BiBi) that well in the books.

The question of the blog is where would you travel and why? I chose this question because they (Jamal and BiBi) started in Afghanistan and (tried) to end up in Australia. I would go to Milan in Italy because they have really nice food and fashion. If you are really into fashion too go check out my review on The Polka Dot Shop.

About the author Moris Gleitzman is and Australian author who has written a lot of other books including Girl Underground (which l will also probably review because it goes with Boy Overboard), the Once series and so many more. He has also collaborated with Paul Jennings.

I hope you enjoyed this book review on Boy Overboard. Love-bookworm blog ๐Ÿ˜™.
P.S sorry l have not posted in almost two months. I will try and post two times a week again.

Matilda

Hi! I hope you enjoy this review on Matilda by Roald Dahl.

Author- Roald Dahl
Genre- Fiction
Theme- Bravery and courage
Target audience- 10+ l will explain why later in the post

The vocabulary is a bit difficult in this book. That is why l chose 10+ for the target audience.

I chose bravery for the theme because Matilda was never extremely sad or scared of Miss Trunchbull (the headmistress of Matilda's school). Well not as scared as the other children in her class anyway. The children were scared of Ms Trunchbull because she gave harsh punishments which were traumatising. For example, she would often lock up students in the chokey which was a 10 inch wide room with nails and glass sticking out from the walls inside. Bruce Bogtrotter stole cake from Miss Trunchbull. So as punishment Miss Trunchbull ordered the Cook to make an extra large chocolate cake to be made. Bruce Bogtrotter went on stage and he had to eat the whole cake. A whole extra large cake to himself. Do you think Bruce Bogtrotter finished the cake? Of course he did! This made Miss Trunchbull extremely angry and mad. Now if you have read this book before you would remember what Lavender did. When Miss Trunchbull's weekly lesson happened, Lavender put a newt inside Miss Trunchbull's jug of water and Miss Trunchbull had a fit in front of the teachers but before that there were some awful punishments given to the students. Read to find out what punishments happened!

I will now introduce Miss Jennifer (Jenny) Honey. Miss Honey's mum died and a few years later her father (Magnus) also died. So she was looked after by Miss Trunchbull. Miss Trunchbull is Miss Honey's aunt. I would HATE to have to even see Miss Trunchbull, let alone be looked after by her! Miss Honey is Matilda's school teacher.

I will now introduce Matilda Wormwood. She has a brother named Mike and her Father who thinks Matilda is a scab. And a  mother who does not interfere with anything Matilda does. Matilda's father hates books, the completely opposite of Matilda. Matilda is a bookworm just like me and you! When she goes to school that is where Miss Honey comes in.

This book is about Matilda. Well of course it is- her name is in the title! It starts out on Matilda's first day of school with Miss Honey. Miss Honey finds out that Matilda is literally a child genius. Matilda has a brain of a 12 year old. Actually l think Matilda is smarter then a 12 year old! Matilda also has a power/talent ... she can move objects (it does not matter what the object is) without her moving! It ends up saving the whole school because Ms Trunchbull faints from seeing the chalk writing on the blackboard on its own (a trick by Matilda) and she ends up running away from the school.

I rate this book 5 out of 5 stars ⛦ because it was a really enjoyable and funny book. What Miss Trunchball did was something you would NEVER see in a real school. I was also extremely amazed at Matilda's talent.

The question of the blog is what is your favourite subject in school? I like Maths the best because it is really challenging and fun! I also like to explore the different areas in maths! There is always something you do not know how to do in maths and that is why l love It!

Hope to you enjoyed this long book review on Matilda. Also sorry l have not posted in a while, it just took a long time to edit and write. Love-bookworm blog ๐Ÿ’•

The Callback

Hi! This is the last Maddie Ziegler book for a while. Anyway l hope you enjoy this book review on The Callback!

Author- Maddie Ziegler
Genre- Fiction
Theme- Persistence I will explain why later in the post
Target audience- 7+

I chose persistence as the theme because Harper had a school musical and she was extremely busy. Everyone eventually got very annoyed of her hectic schedule. Harper was always busy but she never ever stopped.

The Callback was about a school musical and Dancestarz. The school musical was really cool because Harper got to wear one of her dancing outfits for it. When the musical ended there was a dance off at the Dancestarz studio. Harper had to race to the studio to do more dancing! In between everything that happens, there are also a lot of rehearsals. It was EXTREMELY hectic. I was amazed at how Maddie Ziegler (the author) set the scene in this book.

I give this book 5 out of 5 stars ⛦ because it was a really interesting book to read. I found the book interesting because the reader got to see more of Harper's school life. We also got to see her other friends from school (not her dance friends).

The question of the blog is .... which Disney princess would you like to be the most? Are you wondering why ? Well if you are it is because the school musical is about Ariel from the little mermaid. My answer is l think l personally LOVE Belle from Beauty and the Beast. If you see my profile it tells you my what favourite movie(s) are. I LOVE Belle because she is a bookworm just like me/you!

The Audition

Hi! I hope you enjoy this post on The Audition!

Author- Maddie Ziegler
Genre- Fiction is back!
Theme- Persistence l will explain why later in the post
Target audience- 7+

I will now explain why l chose persistence for the theme. I chose persistence because Harper (it is from Harper's perspective) had to move school because she moved states. At first everyone was kind of mean to Harper.

The team that makes up Dancestarz  (Dancestarz is the new dance team) : Harper a new girl, Lily another new girl and Harper's best friend, Tina part of the Bunheads trio, Megan part of the Bunheads trio, Lucky last Trina part of the Bunheads trio.

This book is about Harper moving and her new dance team, Dancestarz! Lily's family owns a frozen yogurt place and there is a town parade. Of course Dancestarz has to dance in the parade. Megan decided the group should do fast choreography because it was really interesting (but not safe because they were dancing on a float). Then the Dancestarz coach Vanessa changed the fast choreography to slow because Harper could not keep up with the fast sequence. At last minute Megan changes the slow choreography to the fast choreography because they saw their biggest enemies the Belles. Remember that  Harper could not keep up with the fast choreography. Well Harper ended up falling off the floaty. The Belles record the fall and it ends up being viral!

I give this book a 5 out of 5 stars ⛦ because at the end the Lily, Harper and the Bunheads end up being better friends then before. It is a great message to spread around that you can make friends with the people who are not exactly nice to you when they first meet you.

The question of the blog is ... which dance style would you like to do the most and why? I personally think I would enjoy acro because I can do a lot of tricks already (it says in MY first post ever) and a lot of people say l am flexible too!

I will do The Callback very soon. So look out for that! I hope you enjoy this post on The Audition! Love-bookworm blog ๐Ÿ’•

The Maddie Diaries

Hi! I hope you enjoy this post on The Maddie Diaries!

Author- Maddie Ziegler (Madison Nicole Ziegler is her full name)
Genre- Non-Fiction (Are you surprised?)
Theme- No theme because it is Non-Fiction
Target audience- 9+ Mostly aimed for tweens and up

This is kind of a weird book because it is a procedural book and kind of a self help book. There are ways to make yourself confident and it is really helpful.

Have you heard of this award winning author before? Maddie Ziegler is an actress, dancer and author. Terrible singer though, although her sister Kenzie Ziegler (Mackenzie Ziegler) is definitely a singer. Her step-father and her mother always supported Maddie Ziegler and Mackenzie Ziegler.

This book is about .... Well it is about tips and tricks really! It tells you how to do different hairstyles and it is really useful if you are a dancer! It also tells you different ways to do your makeup. Once again useful if you are a dancer!

I recommend this book to any performer beccause of all the tips and tricks.

I give this book 5 out of 5 stars ⛦ because it is a very useful book for yourself and your friends. And if you are a big fan of Maddie Ziegler you get to know much more about her! There is even a part where Mackenzie Ziegler wrote some things about her sister, Maddie Ziegler.

The question of the blog is ... What hairstyle would you like to know how to do the most? I would personally love to be able to do a fishtail in my hair. I think it would look sophisticated with that hairstyle.

Hope you enjoyed this book review on The Maddie Diaries! Love-bookworm blog ๐Ÿ’•

Amelia Jane Again!

Hi! Here is another Amelia Jane book again. Also the other books in the series are Amelia Jane is naughty again! The other book in the series is Good idea, Amelia Jane! Why does it say good idea? Well read and find out! I am not doing Amelia Jane again for quite some time. Sorry for the long introduction l did it in case you wanted to read the Amelia Jane series. Hope you enjoy this post!

Author- Enid Blyton
Genre- Fiction
Theme- be gratefull for what you have (l will explain why later in the post)
Target audience- 7+

Okay l will now explain why l chose 'be grateful for what you have'. I said be grateful for what you have because sometimes when you have something you do not want it but when you do not have you miss it. Make any sense? So basically what l am saying is when Amelia Jane is gone the toys know that they would miss her.

Sorry if you got confused but the toys are toys, but they become alive and do things.

So finally .... This book is about Amelia Jane being naughty again! Did you guess that? Well l think you did!

lf you want to learn more about Amelia Jane herself check out the post that l posted before this post which is called ..... Naughty Amelia Jane!

Back to the book- my favourite prank which is also my HIGHLIGHT is .... when Amelia Jane got a pillow and got the feathers out and made the feathers go everywhere! It was really funny and you should have a giggle about it too!

I give this book 5 out of 5 stars ⛦ because it was very funny and entertaining. It is a very good book if you are bored and want to get entertained!

The question of the blog is what prank would you do if you were Amelia Jane? I think l would do one of the most classic prank in history! I would do the toothpaste prank with Oreos. This means l would scrape out the filling for the Oreo and fill it up with toothpaste instead! What prank would you do? Write your answer in the comment section down below  (if you do not want to that, it is okay too) !

Hope you enjoyed this book review! Love-bookworm blog ๐Ÿ’•

Naughty Amelia Jane!

Hi! I hope enjoy this post!

Author- Enid Blyton
Genre- Fiction
Theme- Be grateful l guess? Be happy for what you have.
Target audience- Credits to a commenter from my latest post. I think the target audience  is age 7+

Meet Amelia Jane ( if you do not know her already) : She is Big! She is bad! She is the terror of the toy cupboard! So you know the background,  Amelia Jane is a toy that becomes alive and likes to be a prankster! Amelia Jane is very naughty.

This book is about Amelia Jane snipping off the tail of Pink Rabbit, squirts Tom the soldier and gets up to mischief at the beach. My HIGHLIGHT was when Amelia Jane got soap and tied it or stuck it to her foot ( l forget which-you find out, read the book!) and skated around like she was riding on roller-skates!

I give this book 5 out of 5 stars ⛦ . l found it very entertaining because Amelia Jane kept pranking and tricking everyone. So if you read it, l think you will find it very entertaining and maybe even laugh a bit!

The question of the blog is- What would you do if you were stuck with Amelia Jane in the toy cupboard? Write your answer in the comment section down below! My answer is, l would most likely try and ignore the tricks and pranks and punish Amelia Jane when it got out of hand!

Hope you enjoyed! Sorry this is a short book review. Love-bookworm blog

The Polka Dot Shop

Hi! I am taking a break on the Baby-sitters club, and l will start doing them again in April. I hope you enjoy this book review on The Polka Dot Shop!

Author- Laurel Remington
Genre- Fiction
Theme- Persistence
Please comment and provide some ideas that you would like for the above list. I thought of theme (but if you do not have an idea, you do not have to comment).

This book is about how Andy (she is actually a girl, Andy is short for Andrea) does not like vintage clothes. However, Andy's mum owns an op shop with pre-loved, pre-owned clothes.  Everything Andy's mum wears is NEVER almost never new. Andy barely got anything new, she only got new clothes that were sent by Aunt Linda  (Aunt Linda lives in a different state to Andy and her mum). To make matters worse her dad died a long, long time ago so Andy's mum (Eliza) can not do anything else except for running her op shop and falls into depression. By the way the shop is named Eliza's Emporium. Then Andy's (Andrea if you forget she is a girl) school announced that the school is not going to have uniforms anymore! Andy (Andrea) gets scared because all her clothes are pre-owned and pre-loved and her school uniform was basically ger protection from her mums store. During that time Andy's friends, started being mean to Andy and in the book Andy's "Friends" were called Fashion police, you either got a thumbs up ๐Ÿ‘or thumbs down ๐Ÿ‘Ž. But everything changes when she finds a designers bag, in the back of Eliza's Emporium and everything starts to change at last.

Sorry l know that was a very long paragraph, but lets get started on the star rating!

I give this book 5 out of 5 stars ⛦ because Andy NEVER gave up on transforming the Emporium, well most of the time she does not give up anyway. That is also the reason l gave this book the theme of persistence.

The question of the blog is ... if you got to decorate/redesign the Emporium what would it look like? I personally think I would start by getting rid of everything and painting the walls white and start from there.

Hope you enjoyed this post! Love-bookworm blog ๐Ÿ’•

Claudia and the New Girl

Hi! This is yet another Baby-sitters club book, because this is the LOSER of What book next? where you had to vote for the one you wanted and l promised l would do the loser later. So here it is....  and l hope you enjoy!

The author is Ann.M.Martin
Genre- Fiction

This book is about a new girl who is very talented. The new girl is named Ashley Wyeth. Basically Ashley makes Claudia do everything she says and Claudia obliges because of their love of art. There is an art competition and Ashley and Claudia are busy with it, so  Claudia keeps missing meetings of the Baby-sitters club. Because Claudia keeps missing the Baby-sitters club meetings she NEVER gets any jobs to do. Dawn being the Alternative officer picks up Claudia's jobs when meetings happen. Eventually The Baby-sitters club gets very tired of Claudia slacking off and the Baby-sitters club hide scrunched up notes everywhere in Claudia's room. The notes have mean things on them mostly, mean poems for Claudia to read. At the end of the book they are all happy and really they all just forget about Claudia neglecting the club.

I give this book my FIRST EVER 4 out of 5 stars ⛦ because l wanted more Baby-sitting l guess?  It got boring after a while because there was no Baby-sitting Every book has its own faults.

The question of the blog is what would you write if you were writing a scrunched up note? I would probably write to Claudia "are you still going to be my best friend?- Stacey". If Claudia spent all her time with Ashley I would wonder that for sure!

Hope you enjoyed! Love-bookworm blog  ๐Ÿ’•

Chinese Cinderella

This book is called Chinese Cinderella The secret of the unwanted daughter .It is a very long title so l thought l would abbreviate as Chinese Cinderella.

The auther is Adeline Yen Mah. Adeline is her English name and Yen is her Chinese name. Finally Mah is her family surname. This ia an autobiography.

Sorry for that long introduction to this book review and l am also sorry that l have not posted in a while. Also this is the mystery post l was talking about in the last post/Book review. Go check it out!

This book is about a child being neglected (we will go back to why she was neglected) but when she was not being neglected she was being bullied by her siblings. Now the reason she (Adeline Yen Mah) was getting neglected is because she is the reason (kind of) for her mother's death. Her mothers death happened soon after she was born so everyone took her as the blame. Sad right? Well one year after that her father remarried, to someone who was not very nice to her step-children. To make matters worse her step-mother had her own children and of course no one said it it was clear that her children were better than her step-children. If you disobeyed there was an extremely harsh (well very harsh like on a scale on one to ten it was probaly a nine, as ten being the worst it was a pretty bad punishment).

Some of it is written in Chinese, so if you can not read it there is a section where it translates it for you.

                                                  ⬇WARNING⬇
The adult version of Chinese Cinderella is called Falling leaves. So if you are 12 and under read Chinese Cinderella and if you are  13+ read either one (or both)!

This book makes me sad because of how they treat Adeline and others, it is just really unfair! Everyone has the right to be treated well and with respect.

I give this book 5 out of 5 stars ⛦ because of how every thing happened and l just really enjoyed this book :) And on a (good) side note you also learn about the history of China and how it became what it is now! For example you learn when there was a Communist war and the Japanese soldiers invaded, her family had to keep moving.

Hope you enjoyed it! Love-bookworm blog ๐Ÿ’•

The Diary of Anne Frank

I am not reviewing the Baby-sitters club today- may resume this in a few days time! Let's get started with another review on Bookworm blog!

l recommend the children's version of The Diary of Anne Frank if you are under 12 years old! If you are 13+ feel free to read either version. If you are wondering what l mean by 'version' is because there is Anne Frank's 'real' Diary that l think has swearing in it. If you want to read Anne Frank's diary with less violence in it l recommend this book to you! I read the children's version. l thought in case you are younger the older version will be a bit too much. So l just had to put the DISCLAIMER out there for safety reasons.

Okay now to the actual review on The Diary of Anne Frank! The author is actually her, Anne Frank.

The Diary of Anne Frank is about the Nazis, World War 2 and Adolf Hitler. Anne's family have to go into hiding, so the Nazis will not take them. So the Nazis take some type of people (Sorry l forgot what type, read the book to find out!). The hiding place is named the ......... Secret Annexe. Her Diary is over a period of two years. And a lot of things happened even a little break in!

You also might find this book titled The Diary of a young girl. In case you can not find the kids version.

This book makes me feel lucky and grateful because we have a lot of things Anne did not have! But at the same time it makes me feel .... sad because it is just quite sad. But it is not a tear book like you do not cry while you read it, well not for me anyway. It is sad because the Nazis find Anne in the Secret Annexe and take her to a concentration camp where she dies.

I give this book 5 out of 5 stars ⛦ because it is a really touching story and it teaches you a lesson to be grateful for what you have. I just really LOVE this book!

Question of this blog post is ... Have you read this book before? Just joking it isn't the real question is .... Do you know why in Annexe (Secret Annexe) there is the name Anne in it?

Hope to see you soon on Bookworm blog! I will have another Baby-sitters club coming up in a few days so stay tuned! And sorry this is quite a long book review. Love-bookworm blog ๐Ÿ’•! (And sorry if emojies don't come up for you)

Kristy and the Snobs

Hi welcome back to Bookworm blog!

Sorry l haven't been able to post in a while l have been very busy. But anyway here is another blog post so lets get started!

Kristy and the Snobs is about Kristy moving house because Kristy's mum got married again! So they moved house because of that reason! In Kristy's family there is Sam and Charlie- they are Kristys older brothers. David-Michael is Kristy's younger brother. Kristy's step sister is Karen. Karen thinks there is a witch living next door to Kristy and her family. The witch is named Morbidda destiny'. And finally there is Kristy's step brother named Andrew and he is very shy. Oh and they have a dog.

Back to the story... the family dog gets very sick and they have to put him down. Then the snobs come in (well some of them are snobs) but one of them just turn out to be jealous.Read the book to see what comes next....!

I give this book 5 out of 5 stars ⛦ because its amazing, actually EXTRAORDINARY. It was one of my favourite books ever! It teaches you about friendship because Shannon the snob who was jealous actually ended up helping them.

Hope to see you soon! Love-bookworm blog ๐Ÿ’•

The Baby-sitters club Logan likes Mary-anne!

Sorry this is not the first book in the wonderful series of the Baby-sitters club:(
If you haven't already read the Baby-sitters club l recommend that you can borrow it from the Libary because there are more than 20 books!

Sorry for that (l thought you might want to know)

The author is Ann M.Martin just so you know!

In case you haven't read this book series before here is a introduction. So here are the characters:Kristy Thomas thought of the Baby-sitters club, that is why she is the President of the Baby-sitters club! Mary-anne is the Secretary and Kristy Thomas's best friend!  Stacey McGill is the clubs treasury! Dawn Schafer is the Alternative officer ( an alternative officer is someone who takes over a job if someone is away at a meeting)! Claudia Kishi is the vice president because the Babysitters club have their meetings in Claudia Kishi's room! This is everyone in the club at the moment.

This book is about Logan (who is a new boy) who has a slight crush on Mary-anne and Mary-anne has a slight crush on Logan. So as you have probably guessed it is slightly awkward. On top of all that drama Mary-anne got a cat named Tigger! And of course they babysit!

I give this book 5 out of 5 stars⛦ because it is a really good book! I do not know why but it just is a really good book! And I really don't know why!

Hope to see you soon! Love-bookworm blog ๐Ÿ’•

Friday Barnes Girl detective (winner)

So everyone who follows my blog knows that you (kind of ) got to choose the next book for the review and this is the winner. Do not worry if the one you picked didn't win because l will do it after the winner! Let's get started with another review on Bookworm blog!

Friday Barnes is a 12 year old who is quite cunning and witty , really smart and bad at explaining her emotions.

So what happens in the book is that there is a diamond stolen from a vault and the reward is that you win 50,000 dollars. Friday Barnes worked it out earning the 50,000 dollars. So read on to see who stole it and what Friday does with the money.

I recommend it if you like mystery books because there are always some sort of problem to be solved. As you probably have guessed already Friday Barnes solved the case earning even more cash.

I give this book 5 out of 5 stars ⛦ because Friday Barnes is a very intelligent 12 year old and you just get absorbed into the book because it is that good!

The author is R.A.Spratt, thought you might want to know!

After this post say hello to a few books from the baby-sitters club! (Sorry l can not do more Friday Barnes but maybe they will make a come back Hint Hint!)

See you next on Bookworm blog! Love-Bookworm blog

I am Malala

Hi! Today l'm doing yet another biography, about Malala Yousafzai, because she was in Rebel Girls 2017.

The story is about her (Malala Yousafzai) getting shot by the Taliban as well as before the Taliban and in the hospital. Malala explains the scenes very well, about what was happening so, you could picture it in your mind.

Malala Yousafzai is someone who wants to help people even if she doesn't know them. She has an organisation for people who aren't educated. She is from Pakistan and the women there were banned from going to school (they were  banned by the Taliban). So if you could donate to Malala's organisation someone could be educated!

Malala is the youngest person ever to win a noble peace prize!Malala got the noble prize because she fought for womens rights and also fought for peace in Pakistan.

I give this book 5 out of 5 stars ⛦ because Malala fought hard for other peoples rights.

I hope you enjoyed! Love-bookworm blog

Rebel Girls 2018

Hi! Today, l'm going to review the sequel to the Good Night Stories for Rebel Girls 2017. I hope you enjoy!

The good night Rebel Girls 2018 is basically the same as the 2017 edition but, with different people. The people in the book are people who have changed the world and, make it a better place or made peace.

It was very inspiring because you want be like the women in the book to make the world a better place. So l hope you get motivated as well.

I hope the authors come out with a 2019/book 3 edition. There's a cool website au.rebelgirls.co with a podcast.

This book is very passionate because they have had sad lives and most of them are poor and didn't get much education so they had to work really hard to have a good life.

I give this book 5 out of 5 stars ⛦ because of its passion and love and honesty. l said honesty because the stories are so real. I said love because it makes people sad because they went through really terrible hardships. Finally, l said passion because they didn't have much education, so it made it harder to communicate.

Hope to see you enjoyed this book review! Love bookworm blog

Good Night Stories for Rebel Girls 2017

Hi! This is a book review for Good Night Stories for Rebel Girls 2017. I hope you enjoy!

I was gifted this book and also the Rebel Girls 2018 Edition by a friend. I will most likely review the 2018 book next. Let's start with reviewing the 2017 book, my first book review ever!

The book starts with: Dream bigger, aim higher, fight harder and when in doubt, remember you are right.

I just find that quote really inspirational and touching. This is a great quote to remeber when you're feeling down.

In this book you will learn something, at least one thing at a minimum. You will learn about people who made the world a bigger and better place. You will learn about other woman's lives. You will learn about people who fought for other peoples' lives and how the world turned into how it is today. You will most likely learn more about other countries, mostly historical information.

I recommend a lot of the stories in here so here is a list of my recommendations to read: Ada Lovelace, Alak Wek, Amelia Earhart, Anna Politkovskaya, the Brontรซ sisters, Cleopatra, Coco Chanel, Coy Mathis, Elizabeth 1st, Hellen Keller, Jane Austen, Malala Yousafzai, Maria Callas, Marie Currie, Nancy Wake, Michelle Obama, Simone Biles, and Wilma Rudolph (just to name a few)!

I felt scared and a little bit sad to be honest when reading some of these stories because often the people face hardships and challenges . It also made me inspired to be a better person like them! l hope it motivates you as well!

I give this book 5 out of 5 stars ⛦ because of its passion, love and honesty. The women in this book have lots of passion, love and fight for what they believe. The women are very strong!

Hope you enjoyed this book review! Love from bookworm blog๐Ÿ’•
