Book talk- So far 2020

Hi! Hope you enjoy the FIRST Book talk for 2020!

I have reviewed these books:

The Peacock Detectives by Carly Nugent, Born to Dance by Jean Ure and Truth Cookies by Fiona Dunbar.

A quick recap:

The Peacock Detectives- Cassie a Peacock Whisperer (kind of, she's just really good at tracking Peacocks) had a really great, normal life up until now. Her parents start fighting any time they see each other, her sister moves out (into the Garden) and dramas follow.

Born to Dance- Maddy, a ballet dancer was asked by Miss Lucas her gym teacher to do a part in the school play but Maddy said it was stupid as Miss Lucas always gave her bad choregraphy. Maddy decided just to perform the dance for Miss Lucas's sake and when Maddy met Caitlyn a new problem formed.

Truth Cookies- Lulu's evil step-mother to be, Varaminta Le Bone, is an ex-model who tries to marry Lulu's dad. Her biological mother died a few years ago. Varaminta has a son called Torquil and they move to the Baker's  (Lulu and her dads) house where they blackmailed and fired Aileen, the family's maid/cook so that Grodmila, Varaminta's evil friend, could be hired.

The book I liked the most is, The Peacock Detectives. I'm not saying that Born to Dance or Truth Cookies were horrible... I am just implying that The Peacock Detectives touched on subjects that are quite realistic and likely to happen at home. The Peacock Detectives is in first person (I, me, myself) so, you get to connect to how Cassie is feeling and her emotions. As the reader, you understand that it's normal to feel that way if you're going through what Cassie did.
