Hi! This is another book review. This book review is on Born to Dance.
Author- Jean Ure
Genre- Fiction, Everyday Life
Theme- Have persistence
Target Audience- 8+ I will explain why later in the post
I will now explain why l chose have persistence for the theme. I chose have persistance for the theme because Maddy was certain that Caitlyn was a dancer. When Maddy asked Caitlyn, she denied she was a dancer. Once Maddy finds out the truth, she keeps asking her Mother about Caitlyn, because her Mother teaches ballet. Maddy kept persisting about asking and trying to help Caitlyn believe in her abilities to dance.
I will now explain why l chose 8+ for the target audience. I chose 8+ for the target audience because the words aren't confusing or too long and is great if you want to start reading longer books (this is the perfect one to start with). This book is also entertaining, so an added bonus!
This book is about Maddy always thinking that Caitlyn was a dancer. Liv and Jordan think that Maddy is being silly. Then, Miss Lucas wants Maddy to be in the school play but Maddy thinks it's stupid. Maddy does it and then starts to rehearse in the gym but what does Maddy think when she sees Caitlyn trying to teach herself ballet?
I give this book 4 out of 5 stars ⛦ because although really good, it wasn't the best book in the world. The way to improve the book would probably just have vocabulary that's more difficult, because that makes you want to read the book more.
The question of the blog is can you dance ballet? I chose this question because the only type of dance they do in this story is ballet. I don't dance ballet and I don't really think I ever will because I do not have the leg strength to dance ballet. Also I don't know how to speak French (not that you have to know) but it would be easier to start when knowing French because ballet moves are in French.

Hi! Hope you enjoy this book review! Love- Bookworm blog
ReplyDeleteHi Bookworm, why does Maddy want to know if Caitlyn is a dancer so much? Is it any of her business?
ReplyDeleteI tried ballet when I was young but preferred jazz ballet and tap dancing. I did jazz ballet for a few years. It's less technical and a bit more modern.
I wish I was professional in something to do with performing arts like playing an instrument or sports etc. Then I could show off!
Hi! Something confusing about the book is that it never clearly states why Maddy was so interested in Caitlyn. Sometimes Ballet is really hard for some people because you can hurt your legs if you don't have enough strength in them. I also agree to be able to do something professionally or just really well! That would be really cool.

I did ballet when I was little. I wish I had that poise and elegance. Would you try other forms of dance?
ReplyDeleteHi! I used to do Ballet when I was younger too. I don't know if I have the poise and elegance. I don't know if I would try dancing because I don't like performing.
