The Audition

Hi! I hope you enjoy this post on The Audition!

Author- Maddie Ziegler
Genre- Fiction is back!
Theme- Persistence l will explain why later in the post
Target audience- 7+

I will now explain why l chose persistence for the theme. I chose persistence because Harper (it is from Harper's perspective) had to move school because she moved states. At first everyone was kind of mean to Harper.

The team that makes up Dancestarz  (Dancestarz is the new dance team) : Harper a new girl, Lily another new girl and Harper's best friend, Tina part of the Bunheads trio, Megan part of the Bunheads trio, Lucky last Trina part of the Bunheads trio.

This book is about Harper moving and her new dance team, Dancestarz! Lily's family owns a frozen yogurt place and there is a town parade. Of course Dancestarz has to dance in the parade. Megan decided the group should do fast choreography because it was really interesting (but not safe because they were dancing on a float). Then the Dancestarz coach Vanessa changed the fast choreography to slow because Harper could not keep up with the fast sequence. At last minute Megan changes the slow choreography to the fast choreography because they saw their biggest enemies the Belles. Remember that  Harper could not keep up with the fast choreography. Well Harper ended up falling off the floaty. The Belles record the fall and it ends up being viral!

I give this book a 5 out of 5 stars ⛦ because at the end the Lily, Harper and the Bunheads end up being better friends then before. It is a great message to spread around that you can make friends with the people who are not exactly nice to you when they first meet you.

The question of the blog is ... which dance style would you like to do the most and why? I personally think I would enjoy acro because I can do a lot of tricks already (it says in MY first post ever) and a lot of people say l am flexible too!

I will do The Callback very soon. So look out for that! I hope you enjoy this post on The Audition! Love-bookworm blog 💕

  2. Hi Bookworm

It's happened to me a couple of times-people that I've met who weren't friendly straightaway or who had come across as cold at first have become really great friends now!

Do you think another theme might be "keep an open mind" because of the friendships that develop in the story and twists and turns with the choreography? What about "don't judge a book by its cover?"

I still feel bad about Harper falling off and that it went viral. I think it's wrong recording someone who hurts themselves. Instead of videoing, they should check she's OK and if she needs any help!!!

    1. Hi! That is great that people who seem cold turn out to be your best friend! Thank you for the theme ideas l will definitely consisder them. I think most people checked on Harper but it was the Belles who recorded it. The Belles are thier worst enimes. Love-bookworm blog

  4. I would love to learn contemporary dance, ballet or aerial silks! For my 16th birthday I organised a belly dancing class for me and my friends. It was really funny.

I have made plenty of friends whom I wasn’t so sure about when I first met them. Then once I gave it time I realised how genuine, generous and kind they were. I have also made friends with people whom I thought were nice and then realised they were mean. Nobody is perfect I guess. Have you ever had that experience?

    1. Hi! Contemporary sounds interesting and lyrical is very similar as well to contemporary. Belly dancing sounds fun! I have had both experiences, they were not very nice at all!
