Hi! I hope you enjoy this book review on Star Seeker!
Author- Tim Bowler
Genre- Fiction
Theme- Be brave l will explain why later in the post
Target audience- 10+ l will explain why later in the post
I will now explain why l chose bravery for the theme. I chose bravery because when Skin and his gang try to kill Luke (the main character), he was undeniably brave again because during his recovery he still manages to do the retirement concent for Mr Harding.
I chose 10+ for the target audience because of the events that happened and the concepts. Also because of the hard vocabulary.
This book is about Luke Stanton (the main character) and Mrs Little. The first thing that happens is that the gang (Daz, Speedy and Skin) dared Luke Stanton to break into Mrs Littles house but they don't know what is behind the doors. Luke ditched school all because of that. Read Star Seeker to find out what happens.
I give this book 5 out of 5 stars ⛦ because I L-O-V-E this book so much. I love this book so much because of the storyline. I love the storyline because the problem and solution are extremely well thought out. I know breaking in was wrong but what Mrs Little did was much worse. Luke Stanton broke into a house but Mrs Little kidnapped a girl that had mental health issues and didn't want therapy for her.
The question of the blog is would you do the dare breaking into some one else's house? I personally think I would definitely NOT do that because that is really wrong and the consequences would be horrific.

ReplyDeleteHi, this book does sound like it has complex themes. I think your question does make you think about how complicated deciding what is right and wrong can be. For example, on the face of it, breaking into a house seems wrong. However, under certain circumstances (like rescuing a person or object) can breaking into a house be justified or considered the right thing to do??? Even at the risk of horrific consequences? You'd need to analyse the situation to make an informed decision. Sometimes you won't know if you've made the right decision until you try.
ReplyDeleteHi! The theme is very confusing and it was very hard to explain the theme! I personally think that breaking into someone else's house is wrong unless obviously the people who want you to do it ask you to. Love- Bookworm blog
DeleteThis theme is also in Robin Hood-he stole from the rich and gave to the poor. Is he a villain or a hero? Is it wrong to steal a loaf of bread if you or your family have no money and on the brink of starvation? Sometimes in life, things are not black and white and there are no "right or wrong" answers-you will grow and learn to trust your "gut feeling" about what is right or wrong for you.
ReplyDeleteHi! I agree that it is also the theme for Robin Hood. Would you rather die or steal? It would be tough decision to make. I also agree that sometimes there is no right or wrong answer and sometimes you have to trust your gut feeling
DeleteSometimes too, something won't feel right but you can't explain why, like your brain is trying to catch up on how to think about a situation. When this happens, trust your feelings that something isn't right and talk about it to someone you trust for some ideas and advice.
ReplyDeleteHi! Sometimes you do have to look at the situation and see what is best for you. To trust someone for advice if you need help is also important. Love- Bookworm blog
